Journal post 2 (week 8/26-8/31)
This image is called CGI-Scape by ~Jadalycya (http://jadalycya.deviantart.com/art/CGI-scape-69282583#)
I find this picture to be completely beautiful. When I think CGI, I think robots and such, but this picture is actually what made me change my perspective. I like the way the light reflects like it was actually taken with a camera and the color contrast of the butterflies. I hope at one point to be able to make images like this, ones that look realistic but not at the same time.
Journal post 1 (week of 8/26-8/31)
I like this picture because it's not done on photoshop or done by computer animation. I like that hand-drawn images can still have so much emotion. For those who don't know, this is a picture of Snape from Harry Potter 7. This image is inspiring because it makes me want to make films that inflict such emotion on the audience. Just one picture can break a heart.

Sketch 1 (week of 8/24-8/31)
This sketch is from a pivotal scene in a book I just read called Looking for Alaska by John Green. I chose to draw this because it is something I would love to put in a film. It's one of those scenes where the audience wants to follow the character, but the camera just zooms in on the phone, leaving everyone wondering what happened.
Assignment 1 Part 2
Transformation 1: Each of these building are in Boston, and the faint background is Albuquerque. I tried to show how, although the buildings are beautiful in themselves, they block out the natural beauty of nature. Each building is blurred and distorted, apart from the crystal clear natural background.
Transformation 2: A small tribute to Paul Revere. It's not the best use of photo shop, but it's a little hard to make the magic wand capture just he fireworks and not the sky behind it.
Transformation 3: This each of the water trails are actually from the same image of a reflection pool. I placed them on a photo of the beach just to show the contrast. The goblets are there to symbolize the human necessity of water, but also because I like the gold contrast to the different types of blues.

Assignment 1 pictures
Assignment 1
The first picture is a candle in it's holder. I particularly like how the only light is from the candle.
The second is of a building in Boston. Looking down from a skyscraper gives the feel of the city.
The last is a landscape of a park in Albuquerque looking towards the Sandia Mountains. I like this picture because it shows something up close, but it also shows the far off mountains to make one beautiful image.
